Modern loft style: a combination of boldness and individuality
Modern loft style won the hearts of many design lovers with its expressiveness and unique character. This style originated in the 1940s and 1950s when old industrial premises such as factories, warehouses, and workshops were transformed into living spaces for young artists and creative individuals.
Features of modern loft style
1.Open space and high ceiling:
⠀
One of the main features of the loft is the open space, which gives a feeling of space and freedom. A typical loft has a minimum of partitions and walls, which allows you to create a single zone for the living, kitchen, dining room, and workspace. The high ceiling is another characteristic feature of the loft, and it remains visible without being hidden behind false ceilings or plasterboard structures. This adds to the space and allows you to expose structural details such as exposed pipes, beams, and bricks.
⠀
2. Industrial charm and bold materials:
⠀
One of the main elements of the loft is the use of industrial materials and decorative elements. The exposure of brick, concrete, metal, and wood creates a bold and modern atmosphere. Often, brick walls remain unfinished, with distinct traces of time, which gives individuality and style to the room. Metal elements such as pipes, stair posts, and handrails can be used as functional details and decorative accents.
⠀
3. Natural materials and natural lighting:
⠀
Modern loft style emphasizes the use of natural materials such as wood, stone, and glass. Wooden floors treated with natural oils or varnishes add warmth and coziness. Stone surfaces can be used to create accent walls or individual details. Large windows and stained-glass windows allow the maximum influx of natural light, which creates a light and airy atmosphere.
⠀
4. Minimalist furniture and simple lines:
⠀
Minimalism and simplicity reign in the loft design. The furniture has clean lines and a simple shape without unnecessary details or ornaments. Metal and glass surfaces are often used, complementing the industrial character of the room. Furniture can have a simple and functional design, with black, gray, or natural colors.
⠀
5. Individual decor and retro elements:
⠀
Decorative elements are key to creating individuality in a modern loft style. The use of retro objects, such as old lamps, antique furniture, or vintage posters, adds charm and expressiveness to the room.
More about the project
Modern design is when we dictate the rules and decisions!
This project is made in a modern style with a combination of a loft in such details as the active part of the ceiling.
As for the color scheme, neutral and muted shades prevail here: gray, white, black, and brown.
But they added a bright accent of emerald color, in the form of a sofa and curtains that emphasize this area!
They add refinement and elegance to it.
We left an open, clean ceiling made of concrete slabs, which we decorated with overhead tracks.
It emphasizes the strong character of the loft in the interior!
The highlight of the interior in the living room area is a wall with a projector!
Since there is no TV and there is only a lower cabinet, the task was to decorate the wall stylishly, but without unnecessary details.
They added a three-dimensional pattern to it due to the plaster.
The project is quite interesting – spacious and with unusual details at the same time!
Interiors should be beautiful, sometimes it is enough to notice the beauty in simplicity!
