Timeless Contemporary

Task: to create a functional and cosy space for a young family, radically altering the flat’s layout and providing comfortable areas for each family member. To combine modern practicality with elegant classic details and the distinctive character of Lviv.

Result: an apartment in Lviv for a young couple with two children – a modern, functional space with subtle classical details and a distinctive Lviv atmosphere. This project holds special significance for us, as this is not the first time the clients have approached us; over the years of our collaboration, they have become our regular clients.

When we started work, the flat consisted of four rooms, including the kitchen, and two bathrooms, but lacked a proper living room. That is why the key challenge was to create a large communal space for the family. We proposed a radical reorganisation: we combined the kitchen with a room and part of the corridor, and also incorporated the balcony. This allowed us to create a spacious kitchen-living room with comfortable areas for cooking, relaxing and socialising.

Thanks to further changes to the layout, we were able to create two separate children’s bedrooms. Each was organised to suit the girls’ personalities and needs, incorporating spaces for studying, storage and relaxation. The master bedroom features an en-suite bathroom and a workspace that can double as a separate home office if required. A walk-in wardrobe was fitted at the entrance, and a spacious coat cupboard was installed in the hallway.

The interior combines contemporary minimalism, natural textures and understated classical elements. A light, warm colour palette, natural wood, parquet flooring and porcelain stoneware create a calm backdrop, complemented by brown kitchen cabinet fronts, natural greenery and terracotta accents. The wall mouldings lend the interior a sense of elegance that blends seamlessly with Lviv’s architectural context.

The open-plan kitchen-living room plays a special role – thanks to large windows and light-coloured textiles, the space is filled with natural light, whilst warm materials, soft lighting, greenery and thoughtful details create a sense of cosiness.

The result is a flat where modern comfort is combined with the character of Lviv, and every layout and design decision is geared towards the family’s day-to-day comfort.
