Creating a store interior design: Features and key steps
Store interior design is an important aspect that affects the customer experience, their comfort, and their final purchase decision. A well-developed design can increase sales, boost customer loyalty, and create a unique store image.
That’s why we’re going to take a look at the main features and key steps of creating a store interior design.
9 steps to a successful store interior design
1. Defining the concept and target audience
The first step is to define the store concept and target audience. You need to understand what kind of atmosphere you want to create: it can be modern minimalism, classic elegant style or an eclectic mix. It is also important to know who your customers are: their preferences, needs and lifestyle.
2. Spatial planning and organisation
Organise your store space in a way that makes sense and is convenient for customers. Divide it into zones with different functions, for example, display of goods, cash registers, recreation areas, etc.
3. Colour palette and lighting
The choice of colours is important for creating a mood in the store. Each colour has its own effect on emotions and psychological state of a person. Also choose lighting carefully: it should be sufficient, varied and emphasise important elements.
4. Showcases and display
The shop windows are the face of the store. Create exciting and creative displays that grab customers’ attention and showcase your products. The display of goods should also be clearly organised and understandable.
5. Furniture and décor
The choice of furniture and décor should be in line with the overall concept of the store. The furniture should be functional and comfortable, and the decor should be expressive and emphasise the chosen style.
6. Space for interaction and relaxation
Create areas for customers to interact with products: demonstration stands, etc. It is also important to provide seating areas where customers can relax.
7. Branding and identity
The interior of the store should reflect your brand and corporate identity. Use your logo, corporate colours and style to create a unique impression.
8. Ergonomics and functionality
Ensure that the space is ergonomic and functional. Customers need to be able to move around, find products and use all the services of the store.
9. Seasonal and thematic changes
Regularly update your store’s design to reflect the seasons, holidays, or special events. This will help maintain customer interest and change the atmosphere.
Creating a store’s interior design is a creative and complex process that requires attention to detail, knowledge of consumer psychology and a desire to raise the quality of service to a new level. A properly designed interior can be a real advantage for your business, increasing its attractiveness and success.
More about the project
A commercial project is always a challenge! But we are ready for them. For example, the premises for a European goods store in Busk were extremely small.
But it was important to accommodate a large number of shelves, large refrigerators, and a place for the seller!
The customer also wanted a corner for customers.
The idea is that this is not just a banal store, but a place where you can enjoy delicious coffee and fragrant tea while shopping. Since the space is small, the existing wall and ceiling panels were painted white to create more space.
However, black accent elements such as shelving, refrigerators and some wood were added to contrast and vary the white. The small windows were replaced with large panoramic ones, which also serves to create more light and space.
Interiors should be beautiful, because shopping should be fun!
